Because I am a criminal defense attorney, I often get asked about the Zimmerman Trial and whether NOT GUILTY was the proper result. The answer to that is very tricky.Clearly there are some strong feelings on both sides of the case and at the end of the day, the result was proper because that is how our County is set up to resolve disputes such as these. By having a jury, and a burden of proof that falls upon the prosecutor, the U.S. Constitution demands that the proper result occur.
